Diak's Finna is the gateway to the library resources: you can find library's books, theses, journals, e-books, e-articles, databases etc.
In order to borrow you'll need a valid library card. Anyone has a right to get the library card which can be obtained by registering as a borrower and showing the ID.
The library is entitled to ask for customers' personal ID codes under the Personal Data Act 1999/523, section 13. Customers are entitled to see the registers in which they are included. Further information
When obtaining library cards, the customers agree to the library rules and their eventual changes.
Loan periods are determined according to the collection to which the borrowed material belongs. Normally materials are given out for:
-28 days or
-14 days at a time.
Loans may be renewed a maximum of ten times using Finna, through the service desk at a campus library, by phone or by e-mail. Reserved items cannot be renewed.
You may use the Finna to reserve items that are currently loaned out, or reserve the item at a library service desk. Reservations are free of charge. Notices concerning arrivals of reserved items are sent by e-mail.
Customers will receive two reminder messages about overdue loans. Overdue fees accrue according to the current Service price list as of the original due date of the loan.
Customers are responsible for replacing any lost or damaged material issued on their library cards.
